Alice SMTP configuration

Like with any other webmail service, you can configure Alice’s SMTP server to deliver your emails from a mail client or software (that can be handier for both the list management and the creation of messages).

It’s very easy to set up Alice’s own outgoing server this way; you simply need to open the mail app’s configuration panel:

and fill the fields with the Alice’s SMTP server details, which are:

  • Alice SMTP server name: smtp.alice.it (or smtp.alice.de, or smtp.alice.fr – it depends on your local account)
  • Alice SMTP username: your Alice account
  • Alice SMTP password: your account password
  • Alice SMTP port: 25 or 465

Then you can choose your security and authentication options: for further information please check our article about SMTP configuration. (And of course you can use also Alice’s POP details to receive emails).

If you need to send a mass email, however, remember that relying on a free SMTP service like the one provided by Alice is definitely not the best choice. First of all, you can run into delivery problems as a free SMTP relies on shared IPs that do not guarantee a full deliverability. Secondly, Alice can set a limitation on the number of your outgoing emails – deterring spammers, but also preventing you from sending newsletters and legitimate bulk emails.

If you rely on turboSMTP’s professional outgoing server, on the contrary, you will be able to send unlimited emails keeping the highest delivery rate.

Moreover, whether it is personal or business messages, using turboSMTP you can always check in real time if emails  have been actually delivered, opened and if recipient has clicked one of the links inside.
